I haven't seen the books for the Trinity project yet, but it stands to reason $0 without enlarging icons + $0 with enlarging icons doesn't add up to a whole lot to be concerned about :p If somebody can get ahold of the 3.2, 3.3 or 3.4 Changelog(s) there should be something mentioned on the removal. Unless we can turn up some concrete reason that is still applicable today, I wouldn't let it hold up reimplementation.
