Damn -- it's working now, disregard. Something must be breaking it TDE is
running. I just logged off/then back in, tested again and [ctrl]+click works as
expected.

I have no idea what could have caused the behavior to change.. There were NO
config changes between the "not working", then shutdown, the restart "working"
situations....
