As far as I know this has been resolved with the new mirroring system.

A valid concern; fixing this is a simple metapackage tweak.

Not sure how this is our problem?  Sounds like a kernel issue.

Some people like avahi, others (myself) hate it.  Not sure that this
should be anything other than a suggests package?
