Just for information, the destruction of the existing pads was an
unintended consequence of an attempt to upgrade, as the original Etherpad
installation was compiled from an older source tarball and had some nasty
problems. This new instance is built from the latest sources into a
package and then installed on the production server, so the other problems
people had been noticing with the original installation should now be
fixed. Additionally, scheduled backups will commence of the Trinity
Etherpad/source control server, so that this resource continues to be
available even if buggy software destroys the data on the production
machine.

I apologize for the inconvenience and hope to have the remaining features
(tags, etc.) installed shortly.
