Stephan Kulow, the release manager of openSUSE expressed that he will not object to the restoration of all KDE3 in openSUSE distro, calling the situation "completely different" from what was 3 releases before. One major problem is the removal of hal from the future openSUSE release but now we have a patch that allows KDE3 to auto-detect media without hal.
