I doubt it ran well with such hardware; I already tried to use KDE 3.1 with a 350MHz K6-II and 224 MB RAM and it was dog slow compared to the old GNOME2 provided by the distribution (distribution: Mandrake 9.1). As a comparison, I already ran the Fedora 14 KDE LiveCD (KDE 4.5.2) with a 2004 entry-level desktop (2,4 GHz Celeron, 256 MB RAM) and the performances were better than Mandriva 2006 (KDE 3.4.2) as a LiveCD on the K6-II. That's all for KDE3 supposedly being incredibly lighter than KDE4 (and no is isn't the graphics card, unless you consider an Intel 845G as a good graphics card).
