My personal suggestion: try it again. Give 4.8 a week or two and really try to
use it. If you run into issues just use forum.kde.org to get help. I would be
surprised if you would not love it, if you try it without any prejudices.
given your statements in your last mail I guess you haven't used a current
version of 4.x for a looong time.
It's not that I want you to start using KDE Plasma, but you should at least
know what the desktop is able to do, if you do statements what it cannot do.
