On my 11.6" laptop, I'd use KDE 4.8 exactly as I do now, and on my
15.6" laptop, on which I'm typing, I'd either:
-keep my semi-broken Trinity 3.5.13 packages
-go back to KDE 3.5.10
-patch KDE 4.4.3 to correct the really annoying bug which makes my

Because I will stick to Slackware 13.1 at least as long as new Slackware
versions have bad Intel drivers for my Core i3-350M, and the provided
KDE4 packages have annoying bugs.
Furthermore I already built a number of development packages I would
probably have to rebuild if I updated Slackware.
