That is probably the issue. This is CMake, so it's a black-box from the build 
script side. In this run, I had rebuilt _everything_ from hal -> tdebase when 
the failure occurred. So any changes to GIT would have been incorporated into 
the build.

The commit looks like the candidate, but I'll report back in ~1hr. with 
results of building with the 714 patch.
