The UUID information is used by TDEHWLib for this exact reason.  This all
sounds like something wasn't built using the latest GIT HEAD.

Can you use a fresh )blank) mediamanagerrc file, assign a name to your USB
drive, then post the resultant mediamanagerrc file to the list?  That
would help me determine exactly what is going wrong.
