I can point to a few images needing attention, but a proper approach is for volunteers to scan the entire GIT tree for image files (PNG, JPG, GIF, etc.) and actually view each file. Reviewing images does not require artists, just people wanting to contribute to the project in some way who have eyesight and Trinity installed somewhere.

Yes, a couple of seconds per image to view is some serious time. Yes, there are thousands of files and a significant majority will be background types of images that are fine as is. Yet reviewing each image is the only way to complete a comprehensive review to ensure we will end all branding issues.

Anything with a "K" or KDE logos needs attention. For example, in the GIT sources look at tdebase/tdm/kfrontend/pics/kdelogo-crystal.png.

Every desktop or screen grab image has to be reviewed for not-immediately-obvious remnants of KDE3. For example, there is a screen grab image in kaffeine that shows the old KDE3 logo (dvblive.jpg).

Use etherpad to note which app directories have been reviewed and to create a punch list of files needing attention.

Those who have some image software skills can drill through the list and start submitting updated files. I'm a far cry from anything resembling an artist, but to help I would not mind learning a trick or two with graphics software. If somebody with experience posted a mini how-to specifically for updating these files, many of us could help with the final list.

To whomever reviews these images: anything with Konqi the dragon mascot should be added to a separate list. When a new mascot is approved then we'll know which images and artwork needs to be updated.

Side comment: we should eat our own dog food and use Trinity apps. :)
