Let's not start blasting our lasers. Every time we generalize and say 
"KDE4" devs it is not ok. That kind of blanket statement generates a lot 
of animosity. It would be like me saying 'all BLACK people' or some 
other stereotype. I think we need to avoid this.

Trinity is definitely a good target for Enterprise and Enterprise Clone 
Linux systems.

Ok, so now we are getting to the actual point :-). I agree with you. 
Many current systems still do not even support the latest KWin4. this 
could be supplemented however if a Trinity branch/package of KWin was 
provided by TDE with minimal dependencies. Anyhow I see it unlikely that 
TWin would ever be abandoned totally, even if steps towards KWin were 
made. Tim has stated in the past he is not in favor of using KWin as 
default, and there is a similar sentiment among the list.

I mean if we started using kwin, we would definitely have influence upon 
it because we would be the users. Reporting bugs requesting features. I 
am not sure what else you mean by "influence". KWin4 does everything 
TWin does.
