If you want less verbosity, remove "-DCMAKE_VERBOSE_MAKEFILE=ON" from cmake 
arguments and run plain "make", without "VERBOSE=1".

Actually, you don't need "CMAKE_VERBOSE_MAKEFILE" even you want to increase 
verbosity, just run "make VERBOSE=1".
