IMO it is better to create a branch now rather than later.
Work on v14.1.0 and v14.0.x will probably progress in different ways sooner or later. For example, if we do some package 
or file renaming, the packaging files will need to be different for the two branches.
So better to keep things in order from the beginning and have a branch on the main repo and on the packaging repo going 
"side-by-side".
