Unfortunately nv has been broken for a long time. There is no support for wide screen monitors. Been there done that. :) The nouveau driver is not available in most distros of recent past. Available in the latest and all bleeding edge distros but not those from a year or two ago. We can't ignore those distros. And there remain more than a few bugs with the nouveau driver. Darrell
