Let's make sure we are performing steps the same. I noticed when I hovered the pointer that I never saw any difference between the types of preview popups. As I never use the popups, I don't know what I should see.

Provide me the exact steps you performed and I'll then duplicate them here. Select some files that are part of the standard installation.
